The Spring Lubjakünka/Raviallikas
The main features of the petrifying springs that are a rare form of springs are lime sedimentation on plants, stones or in the stream starting from the spring or the area surrounding it. A mound of sort has formed in this manner. The name of the spring derives from the richness of lime and iron that supposedly gives healing properties to the water. Several protected plant species, for example the musk orchid, fen orchid, marsh helleborine, brown bog-rush, fly orchid et al. grow on the boggy lime-rich meadow close to the spring.
