Instruction for visitors

  • When in nature, leave no traces and maintain its silence.
  • Use bicycles only on roads and paths. On the boardwalk, you may only walk your bicycle.
  • It is prohibited to drive a floating craft on the protected area’s bodies of water. 
  • You may pick berries, mushrooms and other natural resources that are not under protection, provided that staying in the picking spot is permitted. To pick natural resources on fenced and marked private land you need the permission of the possessor of the land.
  • Fishing is permitted in accordance with the applicable laws. Read more on the website of the Estonian Environmental Board.
  • Camping and making a fire is only permitted in locations approved, designated and marked by the manager of the protected area. Put out the fire when leaving the campfire site. Making a fire during the flammable period is always prohibited, even in a firepit.
  • Keep your pet on a leash.
  • Hunting in the protected area is permitted, except in the special management zone of Koogiste from 15 March to 31 August and the special management zone of Mukri from 1 March to 31 July.
  • Public events may be organised on designated nature trails and at the observation tower.  Public events with up to 20 participants are permitted in special management zones, except during a ban on movement. Public events with more than 20 participants in locations not intended for this purpose require the approval of the manager of the protected area.
  • Follow the freedom to roam when in the natural environment.
