Best birdwatching tower is in Matsalu National Park

On Saturday, May 10th, a total of 137 bird enthusiasts gathered at observation towers for the Birdwatching Day organized by the Estonian Ornithological Society. Together, they observed 178 different bird species.

The highest number of species was recorded at the Haeska birdwatching tower in Matsalu National Park, where 55 participants identified 112 species. Among the inland towers, the best tower and the second overall was the Jõesuu tower near Lake Võrtsjärv, with 95 species. The third place went to the Kabli tower in Pärnu County, where 93 species were observed.
