Walking on ice is prohibited as of March 17th

In order to prevent tragic accidents, the Estonian Rescue Board prohibits walking on frozen bodies of water as of March 17^th. The thinning ice on all mainland water bodies has made conditions too dangerous for traversing the ice.

There have been 23 rescue operations in the first half of March, one person drowned.
